About Neumedicines Inc.

Neumedicines Inc. was founded in 2003 as a start-up company from the University of Southern California (USC).

Neumedicines Inc. currently operates from our laboratory and research facilities located in Pasadena, CA.

Neumedicines Inc. is exclusively engaged in research and development of both prophylactics and therapeutics based on Interleukin-12 (IL-12) (HemaMax™), for the mitigation and reversal of radiological (myeloablative) and myelosuppressive effects on the human hematopoietic system.

In animal tumor models, HemaMax™ has been shown to be effective in restoring hematopoiesis following either radiation or chemotherapy.  Thus, clinical applications for HemaMax™ are also being pursued in hematology and oncology.

Neumedicines development of HemaMax™ is targeted for applications in Oncology and for the treatment of severe (otherwise lethal) radiation injury.

Neumedicines Inc. has to date proven to increase survivability by 90% in mice administered HemaMax in single, low doses 24 hours after lethal radiation exposure.

Subsequently Neumedicines was recently awarded contract BAA-BARDA-08-08 by BARDA as a part of Project Bioshield for The Development of a Therapeutic Solution for the Hematopoietic Syndrome Resulting from Exposure to Acute Ionizing Radiation.
